Phoebe Detering is more than a Senior Psychologist, she’s a compassionate and approachable presence in the lives of those she supports. Holding a rich academic background with qualifications including a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology, Graduate Diploma in Psychology, Master of Professional Psychology, and a proud membership with the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (MAAPi). Phoebe is an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor and contributes her wisdom to our esteemed team.
Phoebe has an approach to therapy rooted in collaboration and connection. She values building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients by working closely with them to understand their unique goals. Her extensive experience spans diverse client presentations across all age groups, with a special affinity for working with children.
Phoebe is has experience in a wide array of assessments, including cognitive, mood, personality, and vocational assessments. Her expertise extends to interventions for various challenges and disorders, including Anxiety, Depression, Autism, social difficulties, ADHD, and addictions (Alcohol, other drugs, and gambling).
Adopting a client-centered approach, Phoebe tailors her interventions to meet individual needs. She employs evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Schema therapy. These frameworks are all aimed at facilitating positive change.
In addition to her therapeutic skills, Phoebe brings a unique strength to our team with her expertise in the field of addictions. Her experience in Motivational Interviewing equips her to guide individuals through the process of behaviour change, ensuring they receive the support they need on their journey to recovery.
