Autism Spectrum Disorders assessment
This comprehensive interview provides a thorough assessment of individuals suspected of having autism or other autism spectrum disorders. The ADI-R has proven highly useful for formal diagnosis as well as treatment and educational planning.
To administer the ADI-R, an experienced clinical interviewer questions a parent or caretaker who is familiar with the developmental history and current behaviour of the individual being evaluated. The interview can be used to assess both children and adults, as long as their mental age is above 2 years, 0 months.
The ADI-R provides categorical results for three domains: Language/Communication, Reciprocal Social Interactions, and Repetitive Behaviours/Interests. A CARS-2 is also used to determine the level of severity in children.
Assessment generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete.
Test age range: 2 years +
Psychosocial Functional Capacity Assessments
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive assessment of a person’s capability across a range of daily activities and environments. It examines how well you’re managing your everyday tasks, like taking care of yourself and handling things around the house. It provides a big picture look at how you’re doing in different situations. Functional Capacity Assessment can be especially useful in the context of psychosocial disabilities such as neurodiversity and mental illness (psychosocial disabilities).
Functional Capacity Assessments at Elysium will include a clinical interview followed by two questionnaires that assess daily function. These include the Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scale, World Health Organisation Disability Assessment Schedule, The Young Children’s Participation and Environment Measure and/or the Participation and Environment Measure for Children and Youth depending on the client’s age.
Assessment generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete.
Test age range: 2 years +
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children is a comprehensive measure of a child’s intellectual ability.
The assessment involves a powerful set of 16 optional process-oriented subtests that assess different facets of intelligence.
Assessment generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete.
Test age range: 6 -16 years
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS)
The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale is a comprehensive measure of an adult’s intellectual ability that includes a full-scale IQ score in addition to index scores that measure different facets of intelligence.
Assessment generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete.
Test age range: 16 years +
Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS)
The Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) is a comprehensive measure of adult memory functioning and assessed both auditory and visual memory. The results of a memory assessment help an individual develop effective strategies to retain information to aid future learning processes. The results from the test can also be used to provide further insight into an individual’s performance on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale.
Assessment generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete.
Test age range: 16 – 89 years
Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment (Adult)
We use the PAI and the SCID and SCID-PD in our comprehensive mental health assessment. The PAI is an objective inventory of adult personality, the PAI assesses psychopathological syndromes and provides information relevant for clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for psychopathology.
Assessment generally takes between 1-2 hours to complete.
Test age range: 18 years to 89 years
Vocational Assessment
Our vocational assessments includes the following assessments as well as two individual sessions with your psychologist.
Self-Directed Search
Based on John Holland’s RIASEC theory, this is a career assessment and exploration tool that matches individual’s aspirations, activities, and talents to the career choices and educational opportunities that fit best for that person.
Career Drivers Assessment
This assessment measures eleven Career Drivers — motivational engines for power in your career choices and in your everyday work. The closer the work you do matches your top Career Drivers, the more opportunity you have for success by any measure. The more distant the work you do every day is from the description of your Drivers, the more dissatisfaction, unrest and stress you are likely to experience in your work life.
NEO Personality Inventory
A personality inventory that examines a person’s Big Five personality traits (openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism). It provides a systematic assessment of emotional, interpersonal, experiential, attitudinal, and motivational styles.
Test age range: +16 years
